You demand as I tiptoe around the echo of your voice.

Song-Poem thing

Clean up the dusty cobwebs in your mind,
Find treasure underneath piles of time,
The tickling of dust particles,
Remind of rays of light- bright illuminating your dark insides,

You will wake in a daze to find yourself beyond time,
Waiting for that ray of sunshine,
To dust you softly,
As you (s)tumble gently,
Into euphoria

*My very amateur attempt at writing a song. Wrote this last summer in the early hours of the morn. It does have a tune, but felt it was less embarrassing to share in written form...

Say whaaaat

I graduated, with my Masters in Teaching, on June 15th. It was a magical, surreal, happy, beautiful day. And the best part is I'm DONE. As for the future, well Dr. Seuss says it best:

“You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left... And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed) Kid, you'll move mountains.”

Reflections

A couple weeks ago I was going through my closet attempting to get rid of old clothes as well as pack for a trip to NY. As I was looking through my dresses I started noticing a pattern. 90% of my dresses are BLUE! Blue isn't necessarily my favorite color nor did I ever intentionally set out to buy clothes of that particular color. Why didn't anyone say something to me? Would it have been so hard to say "that's a nice dress but don't you have one that looks EXACTLY LIKE IT?" I then hurriedly began to organize my entire closet by color, as one does, distressed that without ever actively choosing it blue might just be my favorite color. Subconsciously my mind was telling me something.

To top it all off, in the midst of writing this post it dawned on me... this very blog has the word blue in it!! Why? (You might ask) I DON'T KNOW! So, my next course of action was to Google it. This sums up my findings:

Blue is serene and tranquil, the color of peace and contentment. Thanks to its calming effects, blue is the color of choice for the many hospital nurseries and studies show that when sitting in a blue room, most people report feeling quiet and settled. If blue is your favorite color you love harmony, are capable, reliable, and sensitive and always make an effort to think of others.

All I could think, while reading through different websites, was how do they come up with this stuff? My findings gave no answers about me. Instead they led me to the next question: If I naturally gravitate towards blue things what else don't I know about myself?

To be continued...
